Natasha

Hi everyone! My name is Natasha, and I’m from Miami, Florida. As a part of the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) Academic Year Program, I spent my gap year studying Mandarin Chinese in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. I lived with a host family for the duration of my gap year, participated in cultural activities and excursions, and volunteered in the local community. I am thankful for the opportunity to improve my language proficiency, connect with my host community, and challenge myself beyond the boundaries of my comfort zone. I am so grateful for Duke’s support and am excited to share my experiences!
