Hi, I’m Alice and I’m from London. I’m beginning my gap year with three months working for a hosting company, attending various events all over London, including gallery openings, big sports games and international conferences.
In December, I am traveling to Val d’Isere in the French Alps, where I’m taking part in a month-long ski racing course. This has always been a passion of mine, and I’m very excited to be able to train in this competitive and intense environment, all while perfecting my French (which I’ve been studying for 8 years)!
After this, I plan to volunteer as an English teacher at a primary school in Antigua, Guatemala, for a month, all while exploring the culture and the nature of the country on my days off.
Finally, though my specific plans are not set in stone, I am going to travel through South America with a friend for two months.
I can’t wait to share my journey with you, and am very grateful to Duke for giving me such an amazing opportunity!
