Hi! My name is Daria, and I am from Massachusetts. I am spending my gap year as a working student for an eventing barn. The program, based in New York and South Carolina seasonally, focuses on developing upper-level event horses and training young horses for amateur clients. As a working student, I assist in every aspect of the program from grooming and exercise riding to cleaning stalls and scrubbing water troughs. In exchange for my work, I learn about the care and training of event horses as well as receive riding instruction on my own horse that I am leasing for the year. I am very excited about everything I will learn this year and grateful to Duke for its support on this journey!
