Hi! My name is Malia, and I am from Los Angeles, California.

I have spent 12 years training and competing in Judo, and I plan to spend my gap year traveling
abroad to pursue my passion for the sport.
I am excited to train in countries such as Japan and compete in various countries across
Europe, all while making time to explore the places I visit. In between my travels, I will be
training with the USA Judo National Resident Team, based at the United States Performance
Center (USPC) at UNC Charlotte.
I look forward to dedicating this year to the sport that has transformed my life while discovering more about myself and my interest
