Hello all, my name is Dakota! I am spending my gap year travelling all over the world to hear
stories, learn lessons, and meet a ton of new people!!
I am starting my gap year by hopping between work exchanges for 3 months in Europe. I am
starting in Ireland then moving to the UK, France, Germany, Austria, and ending in Italy! I am
mostly focusing on environmental-related exchanges so I can learn more about how others treat
the environment before I go into environmental engineering at Duke!
I will then go to Bolivia and Peru for animal volunteering and a renewable energy internship
before returning home and heading out for 4 months in Asia! In Asia I am doing a mix of work
exchanges and cultural weeks throughout Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, and Vietnam
before concluding with a month of reef volunteering in Indonesia.
I can’t wait to share my stories with everyone throughout my journey!
