Hi, my name is Fiorella and I’m from Oxford, UK. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to do a gap year as it’s something I’ve dreamt of doing for a long time!
For the first four months, I am volunteering at a rural girls boarding school in Zambia working as a dorm mother to 30 girls whilst also helping with the preschool children of a local community school, hopefully experiencing some more of the country during the breaks.
After this, I will be volunteering with different global health projects as this is something I’ve always been passionate about. Currently I’m looking at options in Laos and the Pacific Islands.
Then, I am going to go backpacking around South America as it is somewhere that I have never experienced, before finishing the year by gaining a Wilderness EMT certification in Wyoming through NOLS.
