Hi, my name is Owen and I am spending my gap year at Aish Gesher – a Jewish learning institution located next to the Western Wall in Jerusalem, Israel. I will be exploring the history of both Israel and Judaism, studying ancient Hebrew texts and participating in hiking trips and educational travel throughout Israel. I also plan on traveling to Europe in February to visit Holocaust and World War II sites. I am very grateful to the Duke Gap Year Program for providing funding to assist with my gap year and for keeping me in the Duke orbit.
