Hello! My name is Sherry. I’m from Shanghai, China. I plan on spending my gap year travelling, understanding myself and the world around me, and furthering my interests. I will travel to different places in China, from the most developed megacities to small rural towns, not as a tourist, but as one of its people. There I will learn more about Chinese culture and society, as well as make my own contributions to them. I will also continue participating in volunteer work and activism involving LGBTQ+ rights in China. Meanwhile, I will keep on futhering my knowledge in machine learning and data processing. In my free time, I will learn to play the guitar. I’m excited for my gap year!
