Over the course of my gap year, I experimented with landscape photography, time-lapse photography, and astrolandscapes, along with refining my astrophotography processing skills. Below are a few samples from my year (and a photo of my dog I couldn’t resist including).
A two-hour star trail image from Telluride, Colorado. Faint aurora presents as a green glow in the background, airplanes appear as irregular streaks, and the cluster of vertical lines in the middle right is a Starlink reflection.
A black-and-white landscape taken in Zion National Park.
This image is a combination of ten frames: two panels were stitched to create the wide aspect ratio, and each panel was made up of five bracketed exposures to increase dynamic range.
A reprocessed version of my 75-hour deep field on the Angel Nebula, taken with my telescope at Utah Desert Remote Observatories.
